Steamboat Springs area short term weather forecast from Tuesday night

A dominant ridge over the Great Basin will continue the beautiful warm and sunny weather for the next few days before a grazing wave may bring some clouds and a bit of cooling to our area Friday.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear with patchy fog possible later. Lows in the minus single digits for Craig and positive single digits for Steamboat.

Wednesday: Patchy fog in the valleys possible early, then sunny with highs around 30.

Wednesday night: Clear with lows around zero in Craig and 10 in Steamboat.

The currently dominant West Coast ridge will expand over our area bringing beautiful warm, sunny days and cool nights.

Monday night: Partly cloudy with lows in the minus single digits in Craig and around 10 in Steamboat.

Tuesday: Sunny with highs in the 20’s in Craig and around 30 in Steamboat and on the mountain.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear with lows around zero in Craig and single digits in Steamboat.

Moisture in brisk northwest flow will move over the area tomorrow keeping some clouds in the forecast until the West Coast ridge pushes eastward across the Great Basin on Tuesday. Dry weather with warming temperatures will be noted for the rest of the work week, with warming most pronounced on the mountain slopes as temperature inversions in the valleys provide a chilly start to each day.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy with lows around -10 in Craig and single digits for Steamboat.

Monday: Becoming mostly sunny in the valleys with some clouds on the mountain with highs in the 20’s.

Monday night: Partly cloudy with lows in the minus single digits in Craig and positive single digits in Steamboat.

A final dry wave in northwest flow will stay north and east of us tomorrow before the West Coast ridge expands eastward over the Great Basin and brings sunny skies to our area by Tuesday and lasting through the work week. Warming will be most noticeable on the mountain slopes as mornings in the valleys will start cold due to temperature inversions.

Saturday night: Mostly cloudy with patchy fog and a chance of snow showers on the hill. Lows around zero in Craig and single digits in Steamboat.

Sunday: Patchy fog early turning partly sunny with highs in the 20’s.

Sunday night: Mostly cloudy turning partly cloudy with lows in the minus single digits in Craig and around zero in Steamboat.

Brief ridging moves over the area Saturday, though we may see some light snow showers earlier in the day as northwest flow pushed trapped moisture against the Park Range. Another wave moves mostly north and east of our area Saturday night, bringing some cooler temperatures for Sunday.

Friday night: Light snow may linger into the overnight hours with little additional accumulations in the valleys and maybe another inch or so on the hill. Lows around -10 in Craig and 0 in Steamboat.

Saturday: Patchy fog in the valleys eventually turning mostly sunny with light snow showers mixed with some sun on the mountain. Highs around 20.

Saturday night: Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Lows around zero in Craig and single digits in Steamboat.
